Configuration The following configuration programs are provided with the server/workstation: v Configuration/Setup Utility This program is part of the basic input/output system (BIOS) that comes with the server/workstation. You can use this program to configure serial and parallel port assignments, change interrupt request (IRQ) settings, change the drive startup sequence, set the date and time, and set passwords. See "Using the Configuration/Setup Utility program" for more information. v SCSISelect Utility With the built-in SCSISelect Utility program, you can configure the devices that are attached to the integrated SCSI controller. Use this program to change default values, resolve configuration conflicts, and perform a low-level format on a SCSI hard disk drive. See "Using the SCSISelect utility program" on page 33 for more information. v PXE Boot Agent Utility The Preboot eXecution Environment (PXE) Boot Agent Utility program is part of the basic input/output system (BIOS) code that comes with your server/workstation. You can use this program to change network boot protocols and boot order, to select OS wake up support, and to set menu wait times. v ServeRAID programs If there is a ServeRAID adapter installed in the server/workstation, you must use the ServeRAID configuration program to define and configure your disk-array subsystem before you install your operating system. v Advanced System Management Utility An additional diskette is required to set up some of the features of the service processor. The diskette ″Advanced System Management Processor Firmware Update Diskette″ can be obtained from the web site at http://www.ibm.com/pc/support. Using the Configuration/Setup Utility program This section provides the instructions needed to start the Configuration/Setup Utility program and descriptions of the menu choices available. Starting the Configuration/Setup Utility program To start the Configuration/Setup Utility program: 1. Turn on the server/workstation and watch the monitor screen. 2. When the message Press F1 for Configuration/Setup appears, press F1. Note: If you have set both levels of passwords (user and administrator), you must enter the administrator password to access the full Configuration/Setup menu. 3. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Choices available from the Configuration/Setup main menu From the Configuration/Setup Utility main menu, you can select settings that you want to change. Configuration
