1 PANEL DESCRIPTION #9 P ASSBAND TUNING CONTROLS [TWIN-PBT] (p. 75) Adjusts the receiver's IF filter passband width via the DSP. • Passband width and shift frequency are displayed in the multi-function display. • Push and hold [PBT-CLR] for 1 sec. to clear the PBT settings. • Adjustment range is set to half of the IF filter passband width. 25 Hz steps and 100 Hz steps are available. ✔ What is the PBT control? The PBT function electronically modifies the IF passband width to reject interference. This transceiver uses the DSP circuit for the PBT function. The DSP circuit automatically adjusts the notch frequency to effectively eliminate unwanted tones. $2 ∂TX SWITCH [∂TX] (p. 87) ➥ Push to turn the ∂TX function ON and OFF. • Use [RIT/∂TX] control to vary the ∂TX frequency. ➥ Push and hold for 1 sec. to add the ∂TX shift frequency to the operating frequency. ✔ What is the ∂TX function? ∂TX shifts the transmit frequency without shifting the receive frequency. This is useful for simple split frequency operation in CW, etc. $3 CLEAR SWITCH [CLEAR] (pgs. 73, 87) Push or push and hold for 1 sec.* to clear the RIT/ ∂TX shift frequency. * Depending on the quick RIT/∂TX clear function setting (p. 132). $4 T RANSMIT FREQUENCY CHECK SWITCH [XFC] ➥ Monitors the transmit frequency (including ∂TX frequency offset) when pushed and held during split frequency operation. (p. 88) • While pushing and holding this switch, the transmit frequency can be changed with the main dial, keypad, memo pad or switches. • When the split lock function is turned ON, pushing [XFC] cancels the dial lock function.
