Chapter 10 SNMP Commands This section describes the SNMP commands available in the 7200 Series Managed Switch CLI. You can configure the switch to act as a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent so that it can communicate with SNMP managers on your network. The SNMP Commands section contains the following topics: • Section 10.1 "SNMP Configuration Commands" on page 10-1 • Section 10.2 "SNMP Show Commands" on page 10-10 The commands in this section are in one of two functional groups: • Show commands display switch settings, statistics, and other information. • Configuration commands configure features and options of the switch. For every configuration command, there is a show command that displays the configuration setting. 10.1 SNMP Configuration Commands This section describes the commands you use to configure SNMP on switch. 10.1.1 snmp-server This command sets the name and the physical location of the switch, and the organization responsible for the network.
