DuraStor 412R/6320SS/7320SS Installation and User's Guide If a fan inside the module fails, the fan status LED remains lit and an alarm sounds. Failed fans must be replaced immediately. Warning: Do not operate the storage subsystem for extended periods of time (greater than 5 minutes) with the cooling fan module removed. No cooling is available while the fans are removed. Replacing the Cooling Fan Module Note: The cooling fan module is hot-swappable. To replace the cooling fan module: 1 Grasp the module handle with your left hand. 2 Use your thumb to squeeze the release latch, then pull the module from the storage subsystem, as shown in Figure 5-13.
