Troubleshooting Error Message Disconnected Cause The other person or other person's fax machine stopped the call. Document Cover Open The document cover was open while (MFC-J4710DW) scanning a 2-sided document using the ADF. Document Jam/too Long The document was not inserted or fed properly, or the document scanned from the ADF was too long. DR Mode in Use The machine is in Distinctive Ring mode. You cannot change the Receive Mode from Manual to another mode. High Temperature The print head is too warm. Hub is Unusable. A hub or USB Flash memory drive with hub has been connected to the USB direct interface. Image Too Long Image Too Small The proportions of your photo are irregular so effects could not be added. The size of your photo is too small to trim. Action Try to send or receive again. If calls are stopped repeatedly and you are using a VoIP (Voice over IP) system, try changing the Compatibility to Basic (for VoIP). (See Telephone line interference / VoIP on page 135.) Try to send or receive again.
If calls are stopped repeatedly and
you are using a VoIP (Voice over IP)
system, try changing the
Compatibility to Basic (for VoIP). (See

Document Cover Open

Close the document cover.
