Attach an antistatic wrist strap to your wrist and to the ESD socket on the chassis, or to a bare metal surface on the chassis or frame (Figure 5-39). • If you are removing and replacing a PRE, continue with the next step. • If you are installing a redundant PRE, go to Step 8. Disconnect any interface cables from the PRE if necessary. Remove the PCMCIA card from the PRE (see the "Removing and Installing a PCMCIA Flash Memory Card" section on page 5-44). Step 1
Remove the front cover if necessary (see
Front Cover Procedures, page 5-4
).
Step 2
Attach an antistatic wrist strap to your wrist and to the ESD socket on the chassis, or to a bare metal
surface on the chassis or frame (
Figure 5-39
).
If you are removing and replacing a PRE, continue with the next step.
If you are installing a redundant PRE, go to Step 8.
Step 3
Disconnect any interface cables from the PRE if necessary.
Step 4
Remove the PCMCIA card from the PRE (see the
“Removing and Installing a PCMCIA Flash Memory
Card” section on page 5-44
).
