10. Use the show version command in EXEC mode to verify that the downloaded OS10 image is installed as the current running version. OS10# show version Network Operating System OS Version: 10.5.1.0 Build Version: 10.5.1.0.123 Build Time: 2020-02-12T02:34:02+0000 System Type: Z9100-ON Architecture: x86_64 Up Time: 04:40:37 Restrictions on Upgrade to Release 10.5.1.0 or later version After you install the 10.5.1.x image and before you perform a reload, the following images are available in the switch: ● Image A: 10.5.0.0 (active) ● Image B: 10.5.1.0 (standby) During this state, you must not install 10.5.0.x or an earlier release again in the switch. Release 10.5.1.x ONIE preparation and setup is not reversible and the switch only boots using the 10.5.1.x image. Install firmware upgrade You may need to upgrade the firmware components on an OS10 switch without upgrading the OS10 image. To upgrade firmware components in a separate operation: 1. Download the OS10 firmware file from a server using the image download server-filepath/firmware-filename command in EXEC mode; for example: OS10# image download http://10.11.8.184/tftpboot/users/regr//neteng/okelani/files /new/onie-firmware-x86_64-dellemc_s5200_c3538-r0.3.40.5.1-9.bin 2. Install the OS10 firmware file using the image install firmware-file-url command in EXEC mode, where firmware-file is the name of the firmware file downloaded in Step 1; for example: OS10# image install image://onie-firmware-x86_64-dellemc_s5200_c3538-r0.3.40.5.1-9.bin To view the pending firmware upgrade, use the show image firmware command. To cancel a firmware installation and remove any pending firmware upgrades, use the image cancel command. 3. Reload the switch in EXEC mode. OS10# reload Upgrade commands boot system Sets the boot image to use for the next reboot. Syntax Parameters boot system {active | standby} ● active - Reset the running image as the next boot image. ● standby - Set the standby image as the next boot image. Default Command Mode Usage Information Active EXEC Use this command to configure the location of the OS10 image used to reload the software at boot time. Restrictions on Upgrade to Release 10.5.1.0 or later version

After you install the 10.5.1.x image and before you perform a reload, the following images are available in the switch:

●

Image A: 10.5.0.0 (active)

●

Image B: 10.5.1.0 (standby)

During this state, you must not install 10.5.0.x or an earlier release again in the switch. Release 10.5.1.x ONIE preparation and

setup is not reversible and the switch only boots using the 10.5.1.x image.

Install firmware upgrade

You may need to upgrade the firmware components on an OS10 switch without upgrading the OS10 image. To upgrade firmware

components in a separate operation:

Download the OS10 firmware file from a server using the

image download

server-filepath/firmware-filename

command in EXEC mode; for example:

OS10# image download http://10.11.8.184/tftpboot/users/regr//neteng/okelani/files

/new/onie-firmware-x86_64-dellemc_s5200_c3538-r0.3.40.5.1-9.bin

Install the OS10 firmware file using the

image install

firmware-file-url

command in EXEC mode, where

firmware-file

is the name of the firmware file downloaded in Step 1; for example:

OS10# image install image://onie-firmware-x86_64-dellemc_s5200_c3538-r0.3.40.5.1-9.bin

To view the pending firmware upgrade, use the

show image firmware

command. To cancel a firmware installation and

remove any pending firmware upgrades, use the

image cancel

command.

Reload the switch in EXEC mode.
