Initialization There are three ways that the printer can be initialized (returned to a fixed set of conditions). Hardware initialization Software initialization l When the power is turned on. l When the printer receives an INIT signal at the parallel interface (pin 31 goes LOW). l Software sends the ESC @ (initialize the printer) command. These three kinds of initialization have slightly different effects. In particular, ESC @ resets the typestyle to the current SelecType setting; the other two methods reset the typestyle according to the default settings selected by the DIP switch settings. Also, ESC @ does not initialize the printer mechanism, clear the input data buffer, or clear the user-defined character set. 8-18 Technical Specifications
