Maintenance Menu Introduction The Maintenance Menu is used for debugging purposes, enabling you to generate a technical support dump of the critical state information in the switch, and to clear entries in the Forwarding Database and the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) and routing tables. This menu is available only from an administrator and operator login. Menu information Command: /maint [Maintenance Menu] sys - System Maintenance Menu fdb - Forwarding Database Manipulation Menu debug - Debugging Menu arp - ARP Cache Manipulation Menu route - IP Route Manipulation Menu igmp - IGMP Multicast Group Menu uudmp - Uuencode FLASH dump ptdmp - Upload FLASH dump via FTP/TFTP cldmp - Clear FLASH dump panic - Dump state information to FLASH and reboot tsdmp - Tech support dump pttsdmp - Upload tech support dump via FTP/TFTP Dump information contains internal switch state data that is written to flash memory on the switch after any one of the following occurs: • The switch administrator forces a switch panic. The panic option, found in the Maintenance Menu, causes the switch to dump state information to flash memory, and then causes the switch to reboot. • The switch administrator enters the switch reset key combination (Ctrl-Shift-6) on a device that is attached to the console port. • The switch detects a hardware or software problem that requires a reboot. The following table describes the Maintenance Menu options. Introduction
