Accessing the Optical Drives To access the optical drives, you remove the side panels, the front panel, and the fan duct. 1 Remove both side panels. Removing the Optical Drive Your computer comes with one or two optical drives (CD, DVD, or combo) which you can replace or upgrade. These drives are located in the two fixed bays at the top of the chassis. Installing a New Optical Drive 1 Make sure the jumper on the new drive is in the CS (Cable Select) position. Slide the new optical drive through the front of the computer. Drives You can replace the drives that are located in the removable drive cage: hard disk drive, 6-In-1 memory card reader (select models), and diskette (floppy) drive.
