OVERVIEW OF THE RS-R8600 ••The RS-R8600 consists of the Remote Utility, used to configure a remote control system, and the Remote Controller, used to send CI-V commands to a receiver to remotely operate it. ••With the RS-R8600, you can configure a remote control system through a LAN or the Internet. About the remote control system An RS-R8600 remote control system basically consists of following three components: •• Receiver ••Network (LAN or Internet) •• PC The PC controls the receiver through the network (LAN or Internet). LLTo control the receiver, the receiver must be connected to the network. LAN Or Internet Receiver Network PC Routers or other devices are not shown. TIP: The IC-R8600's built-in Server function enables the receiver to directly connect to a network. This enables remote control without needing a separate PC computer for the receiver. iv

An RS-R8600 remote control system basically consists of following three components:
