13 CONFECTION AND INSTALLATION I Mounting D Mounting location Select a location that provides easy access to the controller for navigation safety, has good ventilation and is not subject to sea spray. The controller should be at 90 degrees to your line of sight when operating it. CAUTION: KEEP the transceiver and microphone at least 1 meter away from your ship's magnetic navigation compass. Check the installation angle; the display may not be easy to read at some angles. D Mounting the controller/speaker/main unit R WARNING! NEVER mount the transceiver main unit overhead. The weight of the unit is approximately 4.7 kg (10 lb 6 oz), but its apparent 13 weight will increase several fold due to wave shocks or vibration.
