Using the Operation Panel Making Default Settings Using the operation panel, you can set the default for the following items. Default Emulation You can change the emulation mode and character code set for the current interface. The printer can automatically change the emulation mode according to the print job that is received from the computer. To do this, select KPDL (AUTO) in the following procedure. 1 Press [Menu]. 2 Press ? or @ repeatedly until Emulation > appears on the message display. One of the emulation modes appears, indicating the emulation currently in use. PCL 6 (default) KPDL KPDL (AUTO) Line Printer IBM Proprinter DIABLO 630 EPSON LQ-850 To change the default emulation, press [OK]. A blinking question mark (?) appears. Emulation ?PCL 6 3 Press ? or @ repeatedly until the desired emulation mode is displayed. 4 Press [OK]. 5 Press [Menu]. The display returns to Ready. Printing KPDL Errors The printer can print error descriptions when printing error occurs during KPDL emulation.
