Removing the cover To remove the cover: 1. Shut down your operating system, remove any media (diskettes, CDs, or tapes) from the drives, and turn off all attached devices and the computer. 2. Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets. 3. Disconnect all cables attached to the computer. This includes power cords, input/output (I/O) cables, and any other cables connected to the computer. 4. If a cover lock is present, unlock the computer cover. (The cover lock is located at the rear of the computer on some models.) 5. Locate the cover-release tab on the rear of the side cover and slide the cover toward the front of the computer. Lift off the cover. CoverRelease Tab Note: You might find it easier to access the inside of the computer if you place the computer on its side. Removing the cover
To remove the cover:
1.
Shut down your operating system, remove any media (diskettes, CDs,
or tapes) from the drives, and turn off all attached devices and the
computer.
2.
Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets.
3.
Disconnect all cables attached to the computer. This includes power
cords, input/output (I/O) cables, and any other cables connected to the
computer.
4.
If a cover lock is present, unlock the computer cover.
(The cover lock
is located at the rear of the computer on some models.)
5.
Locate the cover-release tab on the rear of the side cover and slide the
cover toward the front of the computer.
Lift off the cover.
