Trek N300 Travel Router and Range Extender PR2000 WAN Setup You can configure a DMZ (demilitarized zone) server, change the maximum transmit unit (MTU) size, and enable the Trek to respond to a ping on the WAN (Internet) port. The Trek does not support a VPN endpoint, but it allows traffic from VPN endpoints to pass through. To change the WAN settings: 1. Launch your browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the Trek. 2. Enter www.routerlogin.net or www.routerlogin.com in the web browser address bar. The login screen displays. 3. Enter the Trek user name and password. The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive. 4. Click the OK button. The BASIC Home screen displays. 5. Select ADVANCED > Setup > WAN Setup. 6. Enter the following settings: • Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection. DoS protection protects your LAN against denial of service attacks such as Syn flood, Smurf Attack, Ping of Death, Teardrop Attack, UDP Flood, ARP Attack, Spoofing ICMP, Null Scan, and many others. By default, this check box is cleared. • Default DMZ Server. A demilitarized zone (DMZ) server can be helpful when you play online games and use videoconferencing. Be careful when you use this feature because it makes the firewall security less effective. For more information, see Default DMZ Server on page 55. genie ADVANCED Home 54
