Basic Operation for WIA Scanning Basic Operation for WIA Scanning WIA allows computers running Windows 8.1 or later versions of Windows operating systems and Windows Server 2012 or later to perform scanning via USB connection. The procedure in this section is an example based on Windows 10. 1. Place the original on the exposure glass or in the ADF. 2. On the [Start] menu, select [Control Panel] under [Windows System]. 3. Click [View devices and printers]. 4. Right-click the icon of the printer model you want to use, and then click [Start scan] to open the dialog box for the scan settings. 5. In the dialog box, configure the scan settings as required, and then click [Scan]. 6. Click [Import]. 181
