Handwriting Recognition Handwriting recognition is a unique user interface allowing convenient and natural handwritten input using the stylus. By writing in certain areas of the screen, handwriting recognition software turns the stylus strokes into characters or numbers. Recognition of characters - uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, symbols, gestures and extended characters - occur according to where you write them. The mode mark at the bottom center of the display divides the screen into the different writing areas. abc ABC 123 Enter last name: • Stylus strokes written in the left of the display are recognized as lowercase. • Stylus strokes written in the center of the display are recognized as uppercase. • Stylus strokes written in the right of the display are recognized as numbers.
