Advanced Recording Operations Adjusting the exposure manually You can manually adjust and set the exposure. Normally the exposure is automatically adjusted. Adjust the exposure manually in the following cases: - When the subject is backlit - When shooting subjects and dark backgrounds - When recording dark pictures (e.g. night scenes) faithfully (1) Set the POWER switch to CAMERA or MEMORY/NETWORK (DCR-TRV50 only), press EXPOSURE. The exposure indicator appears. (2) Turn the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial to adjust the brightness. 2 EXPOSURE To return to the automatic exposure Press EXPOSURE. When you adjust the exposure manually, the following functions do not work: - Color Slow Shutter - Backlight Your camcorder automatically returns to the automatic exposure: - If you change the PROGRAM AE. - If you slide NIGHTSHOT to ON. 67
