The test result is just for your reference. 14.3.2 Loopback Loopback test function, looping the sender and the receiver of the signal, is used to test whether the port of the switch is available as well as to check and analyze the physical connection status of the port to help you locate and solve network malfunctions. Choose the menu Maintenance→Device Diagnose→Loopback to load the following page. Figure 14-8 Loopback The following entries are displayed on this screen: ¾ Loopback Type Internal: Select Internal to test whether the port is available. External: Select External to test whether the device connected to the port of the switch is available ¾ Loopback Port Loopback Port: Select the desired port for loopback test. Test: Click the Test button to start the loopback test for the port. 14.4 Network Diagnose This switch provides Ping test and Tracert test functions for network diagnose. 14.4.1 Ping Ping test function, testing the connectivity between the switch and one node of the network, facilitates you to test the network connectivity and reachability of the host so as to locate the network malfunctions. 202
