Chapter 7: Picture and sound controls Using the Dolby® Digital Dynamic Range Control feature This dynamic range control feature causes the ATSC dynamic range to be further compressed, allowing you to switch from digital to analog broadcasts at the same dynamic range. 1 From the SOUND menu, highlight Dynamic Range Control. 2 Press C or c to select On. Note: • This feature is available when the Dolby Digital is input to TV in the following situations: - When tuned to a digital RF channel or HDMI input. - When DLNA Certified products is used. • This feature is not available when Dolby Volume is set to Low or High. • This feature will also affect the Digital Audio Output when the optical audio output format is set to PCM. Using Dolby® Volume This feature provides a consistent sound volume regardless of programs, channels or input sources. 1 From the SOUND menu, highlight Dolby Volume. 2 Press C or c to select Low, High or Off. Note: • If Dynamic Range Control is set to On, this feature will be grayed out. • This feature does not affect the audio signal output from the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT. Using the advanced sound settings features Using the surround sound feature Bass, Treble, Surround, Voice Enhancement, and Dynamic Bass Boost help to create a thrilling surround sound experience with deep, rich bass from stereo sound sources. Your TV's audio will sound fuller, richer, and wider. Note: Surround features are only available for Stereo mode (- "Selecting stereo/SAP broadcasts" on page 62). 1 From the SOUND menu, highlight Advanced Sound Settings and press . OK 2 Press b or B to highlight the feature you want to adjust, and then press C or c to adjust the item. Mode Bass, Treble Surround Voice Enhancement Dynamic Bass Boost Description Pressing C makes the bass or treble weaker. Pressing c makes the bass or treble stronger. Select the desired mode (Spatial, Cinema, or Off). Spatial: reproduces an expansive and deep sound Cinema: delivers realistic sound similar to what you would experience in a movie theater.
