Prestige 100WH Internet Access Router Chapter 4 Remote Node Configuration A remote node is required for placing calls to a remote gateway. A remote node represents both a remote gateway and the network behind it, across a WAN connection. Please note that when you use Menu 4 to configure the Internet access, you are actually configuring one of the four remote nodes available in your Prestige. Once a remote node is configured properly, traffic to the remote network will trigger your Prestige to make a call automatically (i.e., Dial On Demand). 4.1 Remote Node Setup This section describes the configuration of protocol-independent parameters for the remote node. 4.1.1 Remote Node Profile To configure the remote node parameters, follow these steps: Step 1. From the Main Menu, select menu option [11. Remote Node Setup] Step 2. When Menu 11 appears, as shown in Figure 4-1, enter the number of the remote node (1-4) that you wish to configure. Figure 4-1. Remote Node Configuration
A remote node is required for placing calls to a remote gateway. A remote node represents
both a remote gateway and the network behind it, across a WAN connection. Please note that
when you use Menu 4 to configure the Internet access, you are actually configuring one of the
four remote nodes available in your
Prestige
. Once a remote node is configured properly,
traffic to the remote network will trigger your
Prestige
to make a call automatically (i.e., Dial
On Demand).

Remote Node Profile
To configure the remote node parameters, follow these steps:
