CONDENSED: Press this button to select either condensed or normal printing. The selected mode is displayed. In condensed mode, all characters are printed at approximately 60% of their normal width. This mode cannot be combined with 15 CPI (set by the PITCH button). MICRO FEED: PLATEN GAP ADJUST: Turns on and off the micro-adjustment feature. In micro-feed mode, the LINE FEED (V) button is used to feed the paper slightly backward and #he FORM FEED (A) button is used to feed the paper slightly forward to adjust the print position, short tear-off position, or loading position. The sections on short tear-off and adjusting the loading position in this chapter have more information on this feature. Selects or deselects the platen gap adjust mode. If the printing is too dark or too faint, you can widen or narrow the platen gap to achieve the desired printing results. When this mode is selected, the display changes to: GhP . . . . ..DDDDD. Press the ON LINE (4 ) button to widen the gap between the platen and print head. Press the LOAD/EJECT ( b) button to narrow the gap.
