2 Software description Introduction The HP Color LaserJet 9500 printer comes with software and installers for Microsoft (R) Windows (R) and Apple Computer, Inc., Macintosh systems. Linux, UNIX (R) and OS/2 systems are supported, and software is available on the Web. For information about specific system installers, drivers, and components, locate the section that corresponds to that system. Supported operating systems Note The following operating systems (OSs) support the HP Color LaserJet 9500 printing-system software, including standard printer command language (PCL) drivers and PostScript (R) 3 emulation (PS) drivers. Windows OSs support a fullfeatured configuration of the HP Color LaserJet 9500 series printer; other OSs support varying levels of functionality. • Windows 95 • Windows 98 • Windows Millennium Edition (Me) • Windows NT (R) (Service packs 3 through 6) • Windows 2000 (Service packs 1 and 2) • Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional (Service pack 1) • Windows Server 2003 Throughout this guide, Windows XP is used to denote both Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional.
