6.14.5.2 Testing pole display in OPOS environment - HP USB Pole Display The following is overview of the steps to test the pole display followed by detailed steps: 1. Open HP LineDisplay OPOS Demo Utility. • C:\\HP\Line Display\OPOS\VFDTEST.exe 2. Select the device from the dropdown menu. 3. Click on "Clear Text" button to clear if there is any text on the pole display. To display a test message on the pole, enter a message in the text box and click on "Display Text". 4. To display a test message on different ROW or Column: a. Enter the test message. b. Enter column and row supported by the display. c. Click "Display Text At" button. 5. To cause a message to blink on the pole: a. Click on the "Blink Characters" button which will cause "!!! Blinking !!!" to appear on the pole display. 6. To cause message to scroll (test #1): a. Click on "Scrolling Text Line 1" button. The pole will scroll a message and the following message "Scrolling Text Line 1" appears on the pole until exiting the test applet or performing a different test function. 7. To cause message to scroll (test #2): a. Click on "Scrolling Text Line 2" button. The pole will scroll a message and the following message " ..." appears on the pole until exiting the test applet or performing a different test function. 8. To display a message using different code page. a. Click on "Clear Text" button. b. Select Character Set from the drop down box. c. Enable the character set by enabling the "MapCharacterSet" option on the utility. d. Enter the appropriate text. e. Click on the "Display Text" button. f. The test message will display on the pole display using the code page specified. 9. To display a graphics on the HP VFD Display (this option will only be shown on the device that supports this feature): a. Click on "Clear Text" button. b. Click on "OPEN FILE" button and browse to the location of the BMP file. o In the OPOS folder there is "Sample BMP" folder with few BMP file that may be used with this utility. o Select the BITMAP file, now the file name and location should appear in the box to the left of the "OPEN FILE" button. c. Click on "DISPLAYBITMAP" button to have the BMP appear on the VFD. 10. To exit the OPOS test applet, click on the "OK" button or click on the "x" in the upper right corner of the test applet. Testing pole display in OPOS environment
HP USB Pole Display
The following is overview of the steps to test the pole display followed by detailed steps:
1. Open
HP LineDisplay OPOS Demo Utility
.
C:\<Program Files directory>\HP\Line Display\OPOS\VFDTEST.exe
2.
Select the device from the dropdown menu.
3.
Click on “Clear
Text
button to clear if there is any text on the pole display.
To display a test
message on the pole, enter a message in the text box an
d click on “Display Text”.
4.
To display a test message on different ROW or Column:
a.
Enter the test message.
b.
Enter column and row supported by the display.
c.
Click “Display Text At” button.
5.
To cause a message to blink on the pole:
a. Click on
the “Blink Characters”
button which will cause “!!! Blinking !!!” to appear on
the pole display.
6.
To cause message to scroll (test #1):
a.
Click on “Scrolling Text Line 1” button.
The pole will

8.
To display a message using different code page.
a.
Click on “Clear Text” button.
b.
Select Character Set from the drop down box.
c.
Enable the character set by enabling the
“MapCharacterSet” option on the utility.
d.
Enter the appropriate text.
e.
Click on the “Display Text” button.
f.
The test message will display on the pole display using the code page specified.
9.

that supports this feature):
a.
Click on “Clear Text” button.
b.
Click on “OPEN FILE” button and browse to the location of the BMP file.
