Installing Windows Version 3.11 Software Installing the Audio Support Software for Windows Version 3.11 To install the audio support software: 1. Start Windows. 2. Select File... from the Program Manager window; then select Run... from the pull-down menu. 3. Insert the Audio Features Diskette for Windows 3.11 into the diskette drive of your computer; then type A:\SETUP and press Enter. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. The MIDI serial port connector is available when the computer is attached to the ThinkPad 380/385 port replicator. The MIDI port capability is disabled as a default, so you need to enable the function in the ThinkPad Features program. You need to install MPU401 Support Software from the Windows 3.1 installation disk. Select and install the Roland MPU401 device driver in the control panel. Installing the Infrared Device Driver for Windows Version 3.11 The infrared device driver for Windows 3.11 is included in the application TranXit for Windows. There are two types of infrared device drivers for Windows 3.11: Infrared device driver to support simple file transfer with the application TranXit for Windows. Infrared device driver to support networking with networking software such as IBM Internet Connection for Windows, Windows for Workgroups 3.11, or Netware DOS client. The two drivers cannot work together, so you must install only the one that you use. The former is included in TranXit for Windows, and is installed when you install the application.
