BBC / BOS / BCS 8. Slip the spring over the shaft. One tang of the spring must engage the tab as shown (Fig. 198). 10. Hold the idler/brake arm in place. Slip the spring over the end on top of the deck as shown. Install the lever and install the screw through the lever and idler/brake arm shaft (Fig. 200). Once the screw is secured take a loop of wire or rope and hook the end of the spring. Pull it towards you and hook the end as shown. B C A. Idler/brake arm Fig 198 3428-0190 A 9. Start the shaft into the hole in the housing. Rotate the idler/brake arm clockwise so the upper tab on the spring can engage the boss in the housing. Rotate the idler/spring arm counterclockwise (Fig. 199) and push the rest of the way into the housing. The brake pad should now ride on the brake drum. A. Spring B. Screwdriver Fig 200 C. Start the shaft into the hole in the housing. Rotate
the idler/brake arm clockwise so the upper tab on
the spring can engage the boss in the housing.
Rotate the idler/spring arm counterclockwise (Fig.
199) and push the rest of the way into the housing.
The brake pad should now ride on the brake drum.

idler/brake arm shaft (Fig. 200). Once the screw is
secured take a loop of wire or rope and hook the end
of the spring. Pull it towards you and hook the end
as shown.

Loosen the cable clamp and pull cable out from
