HANDLES AND CONTROL CABLES BBC Cable Adjustment (Toro Vacu Power/ Lawn-Boy Medallion) 1. Remove the two flanged head self-tapping screws securing the screen panel to the housing and remove the screen panel (Fig. 262). 2. With the engine off and the spark plug wire disconnected, cock and lift the control bar to engage the blade. Tape the control bar to the handle with the blade engaged, then measure the length of the overtravel spring (Fig. 263). When adjusted properly, it should measure 1" (25mm). There is a turnbuckle in the cable about halfway between the control panel and the chassis. Adjust the turnbuckle until the over-travel spring measures 1" (25mm). 4. HANDLES AND CONTROL CABLES

Remove the two flanged head self-tapping screws
securing the screen panel to the housing and
remove the screen panel (Fig. 262).

With the engine off and the spark plug wire discon-
nected, cock and lift the control bar to engage the
blade. Tape the control bar to the handle with the
blade engaged, then measure the length of the over-
travel spring (Fig. 263). When adjusted properly, it
should measure 1” (25mm). If it does, skip ahead
to step 5. Otherwise proceed with adjustment in the
following step.

There is a turnbuckle in the cable about halfway
between the control panel and the chassis. Adjust
the turnbuckle until the over-travel spring measures
1” (25mm).
4.
Remove the tape from the handle and disengage the
blade.
