Page 126 highlights

HANDLES AND CONTROL CABLES Adjusting the Personal Pace Cable Ensure the transmission belt is disengaged, transmission tilted forward. Loosen the cable clamp on the handle. When you pull the cable down the personal place handle should raise to the stop. Hold the cable and secure the clamp (Fig. 236). This is the second generation of the personal pace/ easy stride handle assembly. It works the same as the original in the sense that the handle is telescoping. As the handle is depressed it tightens the self propelled belt and drives the transmission. Handle Removal To ease removal of the Personal Pace handle from a 22" Recycler, make a tool from a piece of metal strapping or banding material. You will need two pieces about 5" (12.7cm) long each. Bend them as shown in the photo and round the ends to remove burrs. This tool permits the handle to slide up and over the internal handle stops (Fig. 238). Disconnect the control cables and the key switch (electric start models) from the upper handle and Personal Pace handle. Separate the upper and lower handle. Remove the brake bail by pressing the two ends together until they come out of the holes in the handle. Fig 237 20018_handle 7-6 WPM Drive Systems Manual
