User's Manual INTRODUCTION Slots PC card 3 - IN - 1 Memory Card slot A PC card slot accommodates: One Type II Refer to Chapter 8, Optional Devices, for details This slot lets you easily transfer data from devices, such as digital cameras and Personal Digital Assistants, that use (SD card/MultiMediaCard/Memory Stick) flashmemory. (Provided with some models) NOTE: Memory Stick Pro is not supported on this system. Multimedia Sound System S-Video Port Sound Blaster™ Pro™ and Windows Sound System compatible sound system provides internal speaker as well as jacks for an external microphone and headphone. It also has a volume control dial. This S-Video jack lets you transfer NTSC or PAL data to external devices. (Provided with some models) Communications Modem LAN Wireless LAN An internal modem provides capability for data and fax communication. It supports V.90 (V.92). Refer to V.90 section in Appendix E . The speed of data transfer and fax depends on analog telephone line conditions. It has a modem jack for connecting to a telephone line. It is preinstalled as a standard device in some markets. Both of V.90 and V.92 are supported only in USA, Canada and Australia. Only V.90 is available in other regions. The computer is equipped with a LAN card that supports Ethernet LAN (10 Mbit/s, 10BASE-T) and Fast Ethernet LAN (100 Mbit/s, 100BASE-Tx). It is preinstalled as a standard device in some markets. Some computers in this series are equipped with a wireless LAN mini-PCI card that is compatible with other LAN systems based on Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum radio technology that complies with the IEEE 802.11g, 802.11a/g Standard (Revision A, B , G).
