Other Useful Features Switching the Tuner Mode The CVA-1004 incorporates the MAX TUNE SQ for the highest quality tuner audio. Moreover, you can choose between three settings to suit your personal preferences. After carrying out steps 1 to 3 of "To display the SETUP screen" (page 29), perform the operation shown below. 1 When the monitor is open, press and hold MUTE/SETUP for at least 2 seconds. The SETUP screen appears. 2 Press preset 4 to activate the RADIO setting mode. Press preset 4 again to select FM CONDITION. 3 Press g or f to select the desired setting. NORMAL: Standard setting HI-FI: Sound quality priority setting STABLE: Noiseless priority setting For any other settings, press preset 4 or another preset button. 4 After setting is completed, press MUTE/SETUP to return to normal mode. Turning Mute Mode On and Off If an Alpine Ai-NET Auxiliary Input Adapter (KCA801B) is connected to the CVA-1004, an Auxiliary Source will be allowed to interrupt the current audio source. For example, you can listen to a portable MP3 player through your car audio system even with a CD changer connected and playing. The CD changer will automatically mute when switched to the AUX Input. MUTE ON". • The Auxiliary device being connected, must have an Interrupt wire with a positive trigger, for this function to operate automatically. Otherwise, a separate switch needs to be added to switch manually. Setting the External Expansion Box When using the optional expansion box (KCE104V), you can use this function. After carrying out steps 1 to 3 of "To display the SETUP screen" (page 29), perform the operation shown below. 1 When the monitor is open, press and hold MUTE/SETUP for at least 2 seconds. The SETUP screen appears. 2 Press preset 5 to activate the SYSTEM setting mode. Press preset 5 again to select EXPAND BOX. 3 Press g or f to set KCE-104V/OFF. KCE-104V: When connecting the expansion box KCE-104V (not supplied). OFF: When not connecting the expansion box KCE-104V (not supplied). (Make sure that KCE-104V is selected when the KCE-104V is connected.)
