Printing on envelopes Types of envelopes to avoid Do not use envelopes which: ■ are damaged, curled, wrinkled, or an usual shape ■ are extremely shiny or textured ■ have clasps, snaps or tie strings ■ have self-adhesive components ■ are of a baggy construction ■ are not sharply creased ■ are embossed (have raised writing on them) ■ have been previously printed on by a laser printer ■ are pre-printed on the inside ■ cannot be arranged when put in a pile ■ are made of paper that weighs more than the paper weight specifications for the printer ■ have been badly made, with edges that are not straight or consistently square ■ have windows, holes, cutouts or perforations Figure 1-26 IF YOU USE ANY OF THE TYPES OF ENVELOPES LISTED ABOVE, THEY MAY DAMAGE YOUR PRINTER.
