5.19 System Board To remove the system board, complete the following steps: 1. Remove the system unit cover (Section 5.6). 2. Remove the expansion boards (Section 5-8). 3. Remove the riser board (Section 5.10). It is not necessary to remove the riser brace in order to remove the system board. If a replacement external battery is installed on the system board, do not unplug the battery from the system board connector as that will erase the CMOS. Remove the external battery from the hook-and-loop fastener on the chassis but leave it electrically connected to the system board. 4. Disconnect any cables plugged into the system board. 5. Remove the front bezel (section 5.14.1). 6. Remove the drive cage (Section 5.17). 7.
