It provides a convenient way to print envelopes, transparencies, custom-size paper, media heavier than 32 lb, or other types of media without having to unload the other trays. Loading Tray 1 CAUTION To avoid jams, never add or remove paper from Tray 1 during printing. 1. Open Tray 1. 2. Set the side guides to the desired width. 3. Load paper in the tray with the side to be printed facing down and the top of the page facing you. NOTE Tray 1 can hold approximately 100 sheets of standard 75 g/m2 (20 lb) office paper.
