Processor The system processor socket supports several Intel processor models. Go to page 97 for the list of supported processor models and their specifications. Processor installation guidelines When configuring the processor, observe the following important guidelines: • Handle the processor and heat sink with care. Damage to either may prevent the system from functioning properly. • Never touch the bottom surface of the processor or the contact pins on the processor socket; contaminant on these areas can damage the processor. • Be sure that the server has the most recent ROM version.
