Switch 2524 replacement To replace the 100 Mb Ethernet switch 2524: 1. Power off the system. See Powering off the system. 2. Make a note of all cable connections to the switch then disconnect the cables. 3. From the front of the node, loosen the captive thumbscrews until the thumbscrews are free of the rack. 4. Pull the switch out from the rack until it stops. 5. Squeeze the release brackets, then pull the node free from the rails. 6. Install the new switch into the rack. See Install the 100 Mb Ethernet switch 2524 into a rack. 7. Reconnect all cables to the new switch exactly as they were connected to the failed switch. 8. Power on the system. See Powering on the VLS300 system. Switch 2824 replacement To replace the 1 Gb Ethernet switch 2824: 1. Power off the system. See Powering off the system. 2. Make a note of all cable connections to the switch then disconnect the cables. 3. From the front of the node, loosen the captive thumbscrews until the thumbscrews are free of the rack. 4. Pull the switch out from the rack until it stops. 5. Squeeze the release brackets, then pull the node free from the rails. 6. Install the new switch into the rack. See Powering on the VLS300 system. USB LAN adapter To replace the USB LAN adapter: 1. Power off the node and switch to which the USB LAN adapter is attached. See Powering off the system 2. Disconnect the USB LAN adapter by unplugging the USB cable from the node and unplugging the Ethernet cable from the adapter. 3. Connect the new USB LAN adapter by connecting the USB cable to the node port from which the previous cable was removed, and plugging the Ethernet cable into the USB LAN adapter. 4. Switch 2524 replacement
To replace the 100 Mb Ethernet switch 2524:
1.
Power off the system. See
Powering off the system

2.
Make a note of all cable connections to the switch then disconnect the cables.
3.
From the front of the node, loosen the captive thumbscrews until the thumbscrews are free of the rack.
4.
Pull the switch out from the rack until it stops.
5.
Squeeze the release brackets, then pull the node free from the rails.
6.
Install the new switch into the rack. See

7.
Reconnect all cables to the new switch exactly as they were connected to the failed switch.
8.
Power on the system. See

To replace the 1 Gb Ethernet switch 2824:
1.
Power off the system. See

Make a note of all cable connections to the switch then disconnect the cables.
3.
From the front of the node, loosen the captive thumbscrews until the thumbscrews are free of the rack.
4.
Pull the switch out from the rack until it stops.
5.
Squeeze the release brackets, then pull the node free from the rails.
6.
Install the new switch into the rack. See

7.
Reconnect all cables to the new switch exactly as they were connected to the failed switch.

USB LAN adapter
To replace the USB LAN adapter:
1.
Power off the node and switch to which the USB LAN adapter is attached. See
Powering off the system
2.
Disconnect the USB LAN adapter by unplugging the USB cable from the node and unplugging
the Ethernet cable from the adapter.
3.
Connect the new USB LAN adapter by connecting the USB cable to the node port from which the
previous cable was removed, and plugging the Ethernet cable into the USB LAN adapter.
4.
Power on the system. See
