Installing an optional tape drive The IBM System x3650 M3 RDX-DDS internal enablement kit is used to install an IBM tape drive in an IBM System x3650 M3 server. The IBM System x3650 M3 RDX-DDS internal enablement kit is compatible only with the following tape drives: v IBM DDS Generation 5 (DDS/5) SATA tape drive v IBM DDS Generation 6 (DDS/6) USB tape drive v IBM RDX USB Removable Hard Disk Drive Note: If your server is with four SAS hard disk drive bays, you need to install the SAS/SATA 4 Pac HDD upgrade option first (see "Installing a SAS/SATA 4 Pac HDD upgrade option" on page 61) in order to upgrade to a 8 Pac HDD + tape system. The RDX-DDS internal enablement kit contains the following components: v One 3.5-inch DDS Gen 6 bezel v One RDX bezel v One 3.5-inch black bezel v One cosmetic bezel v One 3.5-inch RDX bezel Chapter 2.
