Read Verify Sectors command (40h/41h) The Read Verify Sectors command verifies one or more sectors on the device. No data is transferred to the host. The difference between the Read Sectors command and Read Verify Sectors command is: data is transferred to the host during a Read Sectors command; data is not transferred to the host during a Read Verify Sectors command. If an uncorrectable error occurs, the read verify will be terminated at the failing sector. Output Parameters To The Device Sector Count This is the number of continuous sectors to be verified. If zero is specified then 256 sectors will be verified. Sector Number This is the sector number of the first sector to be transferred. (L = 0) In LBA mode this register contains the LBA bits 0-7. (L = 1) Cylinder High/Low This is the cylinder number of the first sector to be transferred. (L = 0) In LBA mode this register contains the LBA bits 8-15 (Low) and bits 16-23 (High).
