8.0 General 8.1 Introduction This specification describes the host interface of DJSA-XXX. The interface conforms to the Working Document of Information technology, AT Attachment with Packet Interface Extension (ATA/ATAPI-5) Revision 2 dated December 13, 1999, with certain limitations described in section 9.0, "Deviations From Standard" on page 63. DJSA-XXX drives support the following new functions included by ATA/ATAPI-5 standards or newer standards. ! S.M.A.R.T. Error Logging and Self Test commands ! Ultra DMA/66 transfer commands DJSA-XXX drives support the following functions as Vendor Specific Functions. ! Address Offset Feature ! Format Unit Function ! ENABLE/DISABLE DELAYED WRITE ! SENSE CONDITION command 8.2 Terminology Device Host First Command INTRQ Device indicates DJSA-XXX Host indicates the system that the device is attached to. The first command that is executed after the power on reset (also known as a hard reset) is the Standby mode command.
