7. MEMORY OPERATION Clearing a memory channel You can clear a no-longer-used memory channel and reset it as a blank channel, except for the program channels (P1 and P2). 1. Select the Main band or Sub band. (Example: Main band) 2. Select the Memory mode. 3. Rotate MULTI to select the channel to clear. (Example: Memory channel 3) About the MEMORY screen q w e r t The memory channel to clear 4. Touch [M-CLR] for 1 second. Cleared 5. To close the VFO/MEMORY screen, push EXIT . q Memory channel number Displays the memory channel number. L"P1" or "P2" is displayed for the Scan Edge memory channels. Memory select icon Touch this icon to set the select number "1," "2," "3" or OFF. See page 69 for the Select Memory scan. LYou can also touch the icon for 1 second to display the SELECT ALL CLEAR screen, and then select the item to reset the select number. w Frequency/Operating mode/IF filter Displays the entered frequency, selected operating mode, and the IF filter. e Memory name Displays the memory name, if entered. LSee the previous for details. r Memory menu Touch to display the MEMORY MENU. LYou can select between "Edit Name," "Memory Write" and "Memory Clear". t [▲] and [▼] Touch to scroll through the Memory channels, 6 channels at a time. About the QUICK MENU While selecting a memory channel with memory contents, push QUICK to display the QUICK MENU, where you can select "SELECT," "Edit Name," "Memory Write," "Memory Clear," and "SELECT All Clear." 64

Clearing a memory channel
You can clear a no-longer-used memory channel and
reset it as a blank channel, except for the program
channels (P1 and P2).
1.
Select the Main band or Sub band.
(Example: Main band)
2. Select the Memory mode.
3. Rotate
MULTI
to select the channel to clear.
(Example: Memory channel 3)
4.
Touch [M-CLR] for 1 second.

To close the VFO/MEMORY screen, push
EXIT

About the MEMORY screen

Memory channel number
Displays the memory channel number.

“P1” or “P2” is displayed for the Scan Edge
memory channels.
Memory select icon
Touch this icon to set the select number “
1,”
2,” “
3” or OFF. See page 69 for the Select
Memory scan.

You can also touch the icon for 1 second to display
the SELECT ALL CLEAR screen, and then select the
item to reset the select number.

Frequency/Operating mode/IF filter
Displays the entered frequency, selected operating
mode, and the IF filter.

Memory name
Displays the memory name, if entered.

Touch to display the MEMORY MENU.
