8. SCANS ∂F scan ∂F scan and Fine ∂F scan (Example: Span: ±10 kHz) 14.17 MHz 14.18 MHz 14.19 MHz Scan Scan Start Jump Scan edge Center Scan edge Repeatedly scans within the ∂F span area. The scan starts from the center frequency. LIn fine scan (programmed or ∂F), the scan speed decreases when the squelch opens, but the transceiver keeps scanning. The scan tuning step changes to 10 Hz when the squelch opens. DD∂F scan operation 1. In the Main band, set the center frequency. (Example: in the VFO mode) 2. Set the operating mode and the tuning step. (Example: USB, 1 kHz) LYou can also change these settings while scanning. 3. Display the SCAN screen. MENU » SCAN 4. Touch [∂F SPAN] to select the span. ••Options: ± 5 kHz, ±10 kHz, ±20 kHz, ±50 kHz, ±100 kHz, ±500 kHz, or ±1 MHz 5. Touch [∂F] to start the scan. LWhen a signal is detected, the scan pauses according to the "SCAN Resume" setting, and then resumes. LTo cancel the scan, touch [∂F] again. LT o turn the TS function to scan by the frequency step setting, touch the 100 kHz digit on the frequency readout. 6. To switch to the Fine ∂F scan, touch [FINE]. ••The scan frequency step changes to 50 Hz. LTouching [FINE] switches between the ∂F scan and the Fine ∂F scan. Blinks 7. In the Main band, set the center frequency.
(Example: in the VFO mode)

3. Display the SCAN screen.

• Options: ±5 kHz, ±10 kHz, ±20 kHz, ±50 kHz,
±100 kHz, ±500 kHz, or ±1 MHz
5. Touch [
F] to start the scan.

When a signal is detected, the scan pauses
according to the “SCAN Resume” setting, and then
resumes.

To cancel the scan, touch [
F
] again.

To turn the TS function to scan by the frequency step
setting, touch the 100 kHz digit on the frequency
readout.
