Installing a new operating system and its device drivers Note You need a CD-ROM Drive and the ThinkPad 570 UltraBase, available as an option, to use the Software Selections CD. If you want to install a new operating system in your computer, you need to install the ThinkPad device drivers for it at the same time. The Software Selections CD includes the preloaded software and ThinkPad device drivers for Windows 98, Windows 95, and Windows NT. This section describes how to install a supported operating system and corresponding device drivers using the Software Selections CD. You should print the sections you will be using before you reinstall the operating system. Go to appropriate section depending on the operating system you are using.
