More on Shooting Shooting Options: Shooting Menu (j, k, l, m Modes) Functions that Cannot be Applied Simultaneously Some settings in the flash mode, the focus mode, the self-timer and the shooting menu cannot be used with other functions. Restricted function Setting Description Flash mode Focus mode (A40) When B (infinity) is selected for shooting, the flash is not available. Continuous (A76) When Continuous H, Continuous L, Pre-shooting cache, Continuous H: 120 fps, Continuous H: 60 fps, BSS or Multi-shot 16 is selected for shooting, the flash is not available. Exposure bracketing (A94) The flash is not available. Self-timer AF area mode (A95) When Subject tracking is selected for shooting, the Self-timer is not available. Focus mode AF area mode (A95) When Subject tracking is selected for shooting, E (manual focus) is not available. Image quality Continuous (A76) When Multi-shot 16 is selected for shooting, Image quality is fixed at Normal. Image size Continuous (A76) • Image size is fixed at D (2560×1920 pixels) when Multi-shot 16 is selected for shooting. • Image size is fixed at B (1600×1200 pixels) when Pre-shooting cache or Continuous H: 60 fps is selected for shooting. • Image size is fixed at A (1280×960 pixels) when Continuous H: 120 fps is selected for shooting. Optimize image Active D-Lighting When Active D-Lighting is used for shooting, the (A103) Contrast setting for Custom or for Custom in Blackand-white will be fixed at Auto under the Optimize image options. White balance Optimize image When Black-and-white is selected for Optimize (A87) image, White balance will be fixed at Auto. ISO sensitivity Continuous (A76) • When shooting in Pre-shooting cache, Continuous H: 120 fps, Continuous H: 60 fps or Multi-shot 16, ISO sensitivity is set automatically according to the brightness when shooting mode j, k or l is used. The setting for ISO sensitivity is fixed at 160 for shooting mode m. • When shooting with Continuous L, 3200 cannot be selected. If Continuous L is selected when ISO sensitivity is set to 3200, sensitivity changes to 1600. 104
