Settings Encrypting phone Encrypts your accounts, settings, downloaded apps and their data, media, and other files. 1. Tap Settings > Security > Encrypt phone. 2. Tap Encrypt phone. Note Make sure to connect the USB cable, charge the battery to as much as 80%, and set Airplane mode before encrypting the phone. Setting SIM card lock 1. Tap Settings > Security > Set up SIM card lock. 2. Tap Lock SIM card and enter an SIM PIN if you want to require a PIN to use the phone. 3. Tap Change SIM PIN and enter the old SIM PIN and a new SIM PIN if you want to change the SIM PIN. Setting SIM card lock Making a password visible 1. Tap Settings > Security. 2. Check Make passwords visible to briefly show each character of passwords as you enter them. Setting device administration 1. Tap Settings > Security > Device administrators to view or deactivate device administrators. 2. Tap Settings > Security > Unknown sources to allow installation of non-market applications. Note Install applications only from trusted sources. Installing applications from unknown sources may introduce harmful virus, malware or expose phone and personal information to outside sources. Setting credential storage 1. Tap Settings > Security > Trusted credentials to view the list of trusted credentials and set whether or not applications will use the credentials. 2. Tap Settings > Security > Install from SD card to install certificates from an SD card. 3. Tap Settings > Security > Clear credentials to remove all certificates. 82
