Sets whether to fix the exposure when you press the shutter button halfway down. This function is useful when you want to adjust focus and exposure separately. 1. MENU → (Custom Settings) → [ AEL w/ shutter] → desired setting. Menu item details Auto: Fixes the exposure after adjusting the focus automatically when you press the shutter button halfway down when [Focus Mode] is set to [Single-shot AF]. On: Fixes the exposure when you press the shutter button halfway down. Off: Does not fix the exposure when you press the shutter button halfway down. Use this mode when you want to adjust focus and exposure separately. The product keeps adjusting the exposure while shooting in [Cont. Shooting] or [Spd Priority Cont.] mode. Note When [Focus Mode] is set to [Continuous AF] and [ AEL w/ shutter] is [Off] or [Auto], the aperture is fixed at the moment you press the shutter button halfway. If the brightness changes drastically during continuous shooting, release your finger from the shutter button once, then press the shutter button halfway down again. When [AEL toggle] is assigned to any key using [Custom Key Settings], operation using the key will be given priority over the [ AEL w/ shutter] settings. [79] How to Use Zebra Using shooting functions Adjusting the exposure The zebra pattern will appear over part of an image if the brightness level of that part meets the IRE level that you set.
