Print Quality Problems Background Smudges or Streaks Check media type in the Front Panel and printer driver. Note: Before troubleshooting, make sure a supported media is used for printing and that the media is free of damage such as wrinkles, tears, and curl. Make sure the printer environment is within specifications for humidity and temperature. Is media type set correctly? Yes Smudging in only one color? Yes Replace the corresponding Imaging Unit and retest. No Set media type correctly and retest. Run the Remove Print No Smears routine from the Front Panel. Still smudging? No Yes Replace the Fuser.
