Chapter 18 SNMP • Authentication Notification - Failed authentication attempts are logged by the Switch. Use the SNMP Notification section of the SNMP Trap Station screen to enable the notification mechanisms. Click SNMP > Trap Station to view the screen as shown. Enable Authenticatio n Notification Select this to enable logging of failed authentication attempts. If an SNMP manager uses an unmatched community string to access an agent, the Switch will send a trap (notification).
