Power Using Emergency Shutdown Procedures If the notebook is unresponsive and you are unable to use normal Windows shutdown procedures, try the following emergency procedures: ■ Press ctrl+alt+delete. Then: ❏ In Windows 2000 Professional, select Shut Down. In the What Do You Want the Computer To Do list, select Restart or Shut Down, then select the OK button. ❏ In Windows XP Professional, select Start > Turn Off Computer button > Turn Off. ■ If you are unable to shut down the notebook with ctrl+alt+delete, select Fn+power. ■ If you are unable to shut down the notebook with the power switch, disconnect the notebook from external power and remove the battery pack. 1-8 Software Guide

Then:

select Shut Down. In
