TIP 3000: SCSI Interface PowerVault 130T Service Manual TIP 3000: SCSI Interface Use this TIP to troubleshoot and repair problems with the SCSI interface. Symptom Explanation The operating system does not recognize the library or the tape drives. Conditions That Could Cause This Problem SCSI cables may be loose. SCSI terminators may be missing or loose. The SCSI terminator might not be at the end of the bus or there may be more than two terminators present. The SCSI bus may be too long. Too many devices may be on the bus. Your system may not be configured to recognize the electronics module or tape drive SCSI IDs. 1. Are the SCSI cables properly connected? Yes: Go to step 2. No: Reseat the connectors. 2. Are there SCSI terminators at both Yes: Go to step 3. ends of the bus? No: Add SCSI terminators. 3. Are there more than two terminators present? Yes: Go to step 4. No: Remove extra terminators so there are no more than two present. 4. Is the length of the SCSI bus within specification? Yes: Go to step 5. No: Connect a shorter SCSI cable. 5.
