User's Manual PRINTING If you select MENU FONT the printer will use the font and pitch assigned in MENU1 or MENU2. This chapter does not explain how to assign values to options in the menu. If you haven't already assigned values to MENU 1 and MENU 2, refer to Chapter 5 now. When you first turn the printer on, the MENU 1 and MENU FONT. indicators are lit; that is, all of the print features assigned to MENU1 are enabled. However, you can easily switch to MENU2 before printing. You can also select a resident font other than the fonts assigned to MENU1 and MENU2. To select MENU1 or MENU2 and one of the resident fonts, use the FONT and MENU buttons to light the desired indicators as described in the following paragraphs. NOTE For easy reference, keep a list of your current MENU 1 and MENU 2 settings near the printer. To print a list of current settings, see the section Printing a List of Selected Options in Chapter 5. You may also want to use the space provided in Table 4.1 to record your settings. Selecting MENU1 or MENU2 When you first turn the printer on, MENU1 is selected. To change to MENU2 or back to MENU1, proceed as follows: 1. Press the ONLINE button to place the printer offline. 5 2 Repeatedly press the MENU button. The lighted indicator (1 or 2) shows the menu selected.
