Security HP ProtectTools Security Manager (Select Models Only) Your notebook comes with HP ProtectTools Security Manager preinstalled. This software is accessed through Microsoft Windows Control Panel. It provides security features that are designed to help protect against unauthorized access to the notebook, networks, and critical data. Add-on modules for HP ProtectTools Security Manager include the following: ■ Embedded Security for ProtectTools ■ Credential Manager for ProtectTools ■ BIOS Configuration for ProtectTools ■ Smart Card Security for ProtectTools Depending on your notebook model, add-on modules may be preinstalled, preloaded, or downloaded from the HP Web site. Embedded Security for ProtectTools ✎ You must have the optional embedded security chip in your notebook in order to use Embedded Security for ProtectTools.
